Terms of Use
Last updated · 6 June 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Maxmed iOS app ("Maxmed"). By downloading or using Maxmed you agree to these Terms and to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies in addition to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Not medical advice. Maxmed is a language-learning tool. Its content teaches medical English — vocabulary, pronunciation, and phrasing — and is not clinical guidance. Nothing in Maxmed is a substitute for professional medical training, judgment, or the standards and protocols of your institution. Do not rely on Maxmed for diagnosis, treatment, or patient care decisions.
License
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Maxmed on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial learning, subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA.
Maxmed Pro subscription
Maxmed offers an auto-renewable subscription, Maxmed Pro, which unlocks the full deck library and Pro features as described in the app.
- Plans and price. Maxmed Pro is offered as a monthly and a yearly plan. The current price, billing period, and any free-trial terms are shown in the app on the purchase screen before you buy. Prices may vary by region and are confirmed at the point of purchase.
- Free trial. Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion of a trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) after purchase.
- Restoring. If you reinstall the app or use another device, use "Restore" on the paywall to recover an active subscription tied to your Apple ID.
- AI fair-use allowance. Maxmed Pro includes up to 1,500 AI-drafted cards per calendar month, with a daily ceiling of 300, across all AI features. The allowance is counted in cards rather than in decks, so a short deck costs less of it than a long one. Your remaining allowance for the month is shown in Settings. Counters reset at the start of each day and each calendar month; unused allowance does not carry over. Everything else in Maxmed Pro — the full library, spaced repetition, and decks you write yourself — is unlimited and unaffected by this allowance.
- Changes to the allowance. We may adjust these limits where necessary to keep the service running, for example to prevent abuse or in response to a change in what our AI provider charges. If we reduce the allowance we will say so in the app before the change takes effect for your current billing period.
Payments and refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its terms; we cannot issue refunds directly. To request one, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
AI-generated content
Maxmed may offer features that generate study cards from a topic you name or from text you provide. Generated content can contain errors and must be reviewed by you before you rely on it. You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of any content you generate, import, or study.
To produce these cards, the topic or text you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Google, via the Gemini API) for processing and is returned to your device. Do not submit patient-identifiable information or any other confidential material. Use of the AI features is subject to the fair-use allowance described above.
Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute Maxmed or its content, attempt to circumvent purchase or usage limits, or use the app in any unlawful way.
Intellectual property
Maxmed, its brand, design, and curated content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms grant you no ownership of them.
Disclaimer of warranties
Maxmed is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content is complete or accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, Maxmed. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You may stop using Maxmed and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end the service or these Terms if you breach them or as required by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer of Maxmed is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The current version is always posted here with the date above; continued use after a change means you accept it.
